This summer, Penn State Continuing Education has transitioned its highly successful summer camp programming to remote delivery. Penn State Lehigh Valley will offer two mail-home camps for families with students of all ages to enjoy asynchronously throughout the month of July. Our Career Exploration Academy is designed to help middle- and high-school students identify their strengths and interests as they relate to potential career pathways, and our Makerspace Challenge Camp is designed to provide engineering and design-thinking challenges for the whole family!
Career Exploration Academy: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” This question is asked of students all the time. Do you know YOUR answer? Join Penn State from home this summer and explore the world of college- and career-readiness! In this four-week, asynchronous camp, you’ll take online surveys to determine your interests and potential career fields, and then utilize supplied resources to create a vision board for how you can achieve those college and career goals! Share your vision with friends from across the state on our online sharing space and have meaningful conversations about timely career trends and emerging pathways with your peers, friends, and families.
Makerspace Challenge Camp: This year, camp will be delivered to your door! Join Penn State in a Makerspace Challenge this summer. For four weeks, enjoy applying Design Thinking strategies to real-world problems in order to “make” viable, creative solutions out of common household items. Each week brings a new challenge! Share out your solutions with friends from across the state on our online platform. Appropriate for families to work on together, students interested in learning about Engineering & Design Thinking, and budding inventors!
