Program Objective
The Non-Credit Certificate in Supply Chain is a multi-tiered program designed to provide a solid foundation for those who have recently joined the Supply Chain Industry or have been working in the industry and are ready for advancement. The topics introduced will provide a solid foundation for a career in the Supply Chain industry and allow students to successfully contribute to the growth of the industry.
Program Scope and Sequence
This certificate is designed for frontline workers, logistics/warehouse associates, distribution center teams, fulfillment specialists, material handlers, and seasoned professionals in the supply chain industry. This is a three-part certificate. The foundational courses: Introduction to Supply Chain is comprised of four courses. Upon completion of all four courses, students will have the option to select from the next series of courses: Supply Chain Management.
These are interactive sessions with the expectation that students will be actively engaged and bring real world examples into the classroom.
The goal of this certificate is to
- Introduce those currently working in the industry to the key concepts required for advancement.
- Accomplish the training needs for industry partners who have a need for skilled employees ready for advancement.
- Provide current Supervisors with the skills to become leaders in an organization.
The following four courses are the required baseline courses for the Supply Chain Management certificate. These courses provide the foundations of Supply Chain Management and will provide the groundwork for advancing a career in the industry. The foundations certificate is a total of 66 hours.
Essentials of Supply Chain Management – SCM 5050
This program offers all the foundational understanding to manage effective supply chains. You will learn common terminology, inventory methodologies, distribution concepts and service performance.
- High level overview of the Supply Chain industry and important components from end to end.
- Integration of departments and impact on outcomes.
- Introduction to Excel and usage in the industry.
- Effective Business Skills:

Fulfillment Operations Management – SCM 5054
This course will provide you with the primary understanding of fulfillment operations from forecasting through delivery.

Transportation Operations and Sourcing – SCM 5056
This course delivers the foundational understanding needed to manage transportation operations. Learn common terminology and methods to effectively manage transportation operations, source carriers, and third-party providers to reduce transportation cost and improve service levels.

Forecasting and Inventory Management – SCM 5053
Inventory management may be the most important ‘lever’ in the supply chain that can affect overall corporate profitability. This program strengthens the understanding of foundational concepts and the contextual knowledge to drive improvements.

Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded based on a standard of one unit per ten (10) hours of classroom contact.
