November 8, 2024:
The Bethlehem Bach Choir
Presented by: Dr. Christopher Jackson
Christopher will highlight the history of The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, America’s longest running Bach Choir, founded in 1898, and demonstrate the fascinating ways that The Bach Choir has been a unique and vital part of the Lehigh Valley community. Additionally, we will explore what it means for an organization like The Bach Choir – one steeped in music from over 250 years ago – to interact with our modern era. We will discuss questions like: “Is Classical music for everyone?”, “Why sing in a choir?”, and “How do volunteer music organizations impact a community?”
December 13, 2024:
Pip the Mouse
Presented by: Christina Galbiati
In fall of 2022 students in Penn State Lehigh Valley’s senior graphic design seminar learned advanced computer techniques, branding and print production principles to digitally reformat this holiday set. A brief history of this iconic Lehigh Valley show will be discussed, as well as the project evolution by Penn State Lehigh Valley faculty, students and community members that made this class case study possible.
